Two regioisomeric sialylated tetrasaccharides found in goat milk
have been obtained in excellent yield by a concise synthesis using
a common disaccharide intermediate. Regioselective glycosylations
and a minimal number of protecting-group manipulations are the key
features of this synthetic strategy.
