Omega-3-Fettsäuren bei Psoriasis

Zusammenfassung

Einleitung Seit den 80er-Jahren liefern klinische Studien zur Wirksamkeit von Omega-3-Fettsäuren (n-3-FS) bei Psoriasis widersprüchliche Ergebnisse. Methoden Es erfolgte eine Literaturrecherche in elektronischen Datenbanken. In einem narrativen systematischen Review wurden 7 randomisierte placebokontrollierte Studien mittels Evidenztabellen hinsichtlich Evidenz, Heterogenität und Bias untersucht. Ergebnisse Es wurde ein schwach positiver Effekt der n-3-FS auf patientenrelevante Parameter wie Erythem, Infiltration, Juckreiz, Prozentsatz der befallenen Haut und ein deutlich positiver Effekt auf die Phospholipidmembran nachgewiesen. Schlussfolgerungen Eine abschließende Beurteilung ist in Ermangelung vergleichbarer Studien nicht möglich. Es sollte jedoch aufgrund des vorliegenden Evidenzniveaus erwogen werden, die n-3-FS als adjuvante Therapieoption in die evidenzbasierten Leitlinien aufzunehmen.

Abstract

Background Since 1986, studies on the effectiveness of omega-3-fatty acids (n-3-FA) in patients with psoriasis yielded heterogeneous results. Methods We conducted a systematic literature search in electronic databases and performed a narrative systematic review using evidence tables to extract and synthesize results. Heterogeneity and bias were systematically investigated. Results Seven randomized controlled trials (RCT) fulfilled the inclusion criteria. We could show a weak positive effect of n-3-FA on patient relevant outcomes like erythema, desquamation, pruritus and percentage of affected skin and a significant positive effect on the phospholipids. Conclusions The level of evidence for the effectiveness of n-3-FA in patients with psoriasis is higher when compared to psychotherapy. Adjuvant treatment of psoriasis with n-3-FA should be considered in evidence-based clinical guidelines.
