Summary
The problems of the complete removal of pituitary fossa tumours by transsphenoidal approach and its risk of producing a rhino liquorrhea are well known. Concerning these difficulties a control of the operative procedure by intrasellar application of contrast medium is recommended.
Zusammenfassung
Unter Berücksichtigung der Indikationen für das offene transsphenoidale Vorgehen bei Tumoren der Sellaregion wird auf mögliche technische Schwierigkeiten bei der Tumorausräumung und auf die Gefahr der Diaphragma-Läsion mit Rhino-Liquorrhoe hingewiesen. Durch die empfohlene intraoperative Kontrastmitteldarstellung läßt sich das operative Vorgehen kontrollieren und das Ausmaß der erreichten suprasellären Entlastung beurteilen.
