Zusammenfassung
Es wird über den klinischen Verlauf und autoptischen Befund eines 20 Mon. alten Kindes mit sog. Medulloepitheliom des Hirnstammes berichtet. Die histologischen Charakteristika dieser seltenen Geschwulst werden beschrieben. 10 weitere Fälle der Literatur werden überprüft. Hinsichtlich ihrer nosologischen Stellung erscheint es zweckmäßig diese maligne Geschwulst, wegen ihrer klinischen und morphologischen Eigenschaften, als eine Variante des Ependymoms (»embryonales Ependymom« – Fowler) aufzufassen.
Summary
The clinical course and autopsy findings in a 20 months old child with a so-called medulloepithelioma of the brain stem are reported. The histological features of this tumour are described. Ten previous cases in the literature are reviewed and the controversial problems of this entity are discussed. It seems reasonable to place this malignant tumour in the group of ependymomas; in detail, the definition “embryonic ependymoma” proposed by Fowler, appears to be the most suitable, because it comprises all morphological and biological features of this rare malignant tumour.

Considérations cliniques et morphologiques sur le »médulloépithéliome«
Compte rendu de l'évolution clinique et des résultats de l'autopsie d'une enfant de 20 mois atteinte d'un »médulloépithéliome« du tronc cérébral. Description des caractéristiques histologiques de cette tumeur et révision de 10 cas de la littérature. Compte tenu de sa nosologie il semble indiqué de considérer cette tumeur comme une variante de l'épendymome (Ependymome embryonnaire de Fowler).
