Convexity Meningioma Presenting Angiographically as ”Pseudo-Subdural Hematoma“: Report of a Case

Summary

A patient with the clinical and angiographic picture of a subdural hematoma was found at surgery to have a meningioma. Meningioma as well as the other causes of ”pseudo-subdural hematoma“ should be considered when evaluating patients with head trauma since the indications for surgery and the operative approach in other entities differ from those for subdural hematoma.

Zusammenfassung

Bei einem Pat. mit dem klinischen und angiographischen Bild eines subduralen Hämatoms wurde bei der Operation ein Meningeom gefunden. Sowohl das Meningeom als auch andere Ursachen des “subduralen Pseudohämatoms” sollten in Erwägung gezogen werden bei Patienten mit einem Schädelhirntrauma, zumal die Indikation für den operativen Eingriff und den operativen Zugang bei anderen Diagnosen verschieden ist von der beim subduralen Hämatom.

Résumé

Chez un malade présentant cliniquement et angiographiquement les signes d'un hématome sous-dural on tomba à l'intervention sur un méningiome. Le méningiome aussi bien que d'uatres causes d'un »pseudohématome sous-dural« devraient être pris en considération chez des malades ayant subi un traumatisme cranien, étant donné que l'indication et l'abord opératoires sont différents pour des diagnostics autres que cului d'hématome sous-dural.
