Summary
A fluoroscopic technique is described for rapidly and easily locating the foramen ovale and injecting the Gasserian ganglion in the treatment of tic douloureux. The results of 35 patients are discussed. There were six complications which consisted of three patients with complete analgesia and loss of the corneal reflex and three patients with paralysis of the motor division of the trigeminal nerve. Other side effects and observations are also discussed.
Zusammenfassung
Es wird eine fluoroskopische Technik zur schnellen und leichten Lokalisation des Foramen ovale und für Injektionen in das Ganglion Gasseri bei der Behandlung des Tic douloureux beschrieben. Die Ergebnisse bei 35 Patienten werden besprochen. Es gab 6 Komplikationen, die bei 3 Patienten in einer vollständigen Analgesie mit Verlust des Cornealreflexes und bei 3 Patienten in einem Ausfall des motorischen Anteils des Trigeminus bestanden. Weitere Nebeneffekte und Beobachtungen werden diskutiert.
Resumé
On décrit une technique fluoroscopique pour localiser rapidement et aisément le trou ovale pour des injections dans le traitement du tic douloureux. On en discute le résultat d'après 35 malades. On relève six complications consistant en trois cas en une analgésie complète avec disparition du reflexe corneen et en trois autres en une atteinte de la branche motrice. Des effets secondaires ainsi que d'autres faits d'observation font l'objet d'une discussion.
