Summary

A 17-month-old child with thrombosis of the internal carotid artery following head injury is reported. The probable mechanism of injury, the clinical presentation and the prognosis are discussed. This case is the youngest to be reported in the literature to date.

Zusammenfassung

Es wird über ein 17 Monate altes Kind mit einer Thrombose der Carotis interna nach einem Schädeltrauma berichtet. Der mögliche Mechanismus des Unfalls, der klinische Zustand und die Prognose werden besprochen. Dieser Fall ist der jüngste, über den bis heute in der Literatur berichtet wurde.

Résumé

On rapporte le cas d'une thrombose de la carotide interne chez un enfant de 17 mois à la suite d'un traumatisme cranien. On commente le mécanisme supposé de cet accident, l'état clinique et le pronostic. C'est un cas survenu chez le plus jeune sujet publié jusqu'à ce jour.
