Abstract
The inhibitory effect of Cortisol administration on the incorporation of 3H-deoxycytidine into thymus DNA, as a measure of lymphocytolytic activity, was examined in adrenalectomized rats treated with tryptophan to prevent hepatic gluconeogenesis. The results show that a dose of tryptophan which totally blocks the effect of cortisol administration on liver glycogen deposition, has no influence on the cortisol-induced depression of incorporation of 3H-deoxycytidine into the thymus DNA.
