Abstract

Hog pituitary glands were extracted for isolation of a lipolytic active hormone. All the isolated fractions showed lipolytic activity. The fraction with the highest lipolytic activity was most thoroughly investigated; by chromatographic methods this fraction could be separated to further lipolytic active components. Final purification and characterization of one of the numerous lipolytic active substances was not possible as yet.
