Abstract

In the leaves of Casearia ilicifolia (Flacourtiaceae) N–alkanes, 24–methylene–cycloartanol, cycloartenol and β–sitosterol have been identified and determined quantitatively. The alcoholic extract showed the presence of the flavonoids apigenin, kaempferol, quercetin and condensed tannins of the flavan–3, 4–diol type.
