Abstract

48 Compounds are identified from the bark of P. abies (L.) Karst, by glc-ms-coupling. While pinocarvone, fenchol, 0–methylthymol, myrtenal, trans-pinocarveol, trans-verbenol, verbenone, L–carvone, cuminal, α-terpenylacetate and 8–hydroxy-p-cymene were found in spruce for the first time, α-pinene-oxide, pino-camphone, isopinocamphone and cuminol are new constituents of conifères, β-pinene-oxide and endo–1,3–dimethyl–2,9–dioxabicyclo [3.3.1] – nonane are new naturally occuring compounds, the latter of which proved to be specific for spruce under attack of the ambrosia beetle Trypodendron lineatum Oliv.
