Abstract

From the ethanolic extract of the stem bark of Cassia renigera. Three flavonoid glycosides and an anthraquinone had been isolated and the chemistry of two fiavonoids reported earlier [1].

In the present communication the isolation and structural studies of a new flavanone glycoside (A) and a new anthraquinone (B) are being reported. The structures of these two compounds have been arrived at by their colour reactions, spectral data, degradation studies and synthesis.
