Abstract
Various extracts of 7 indigenous plants namely Leu cas asp er a (whole plant), Mentha arvensis (whole plant), Salvia officinalis (leaves), Ricinus comtnunis (seeds), Jatropha glandulifera (seeds), Butea monosperma (seeds) and Hibiscus rosa sinensis (flowers) were tested for postcoital antifertility activity in female albino rats. Out of these plants, only Hibiscus extract, specially benzene extract, showed significant antifertility potentiality.
