Abstract
Fast Blue B salt dissolved in water (0.3 % w/v) was used as histochemical reagent for the study of phenolic compounds in plants. The advantages of this reagent were revealed when working on the large stalked glandular trichomes of the female plants of Cannabis indica. The production of artefacts is strongly diminished since no pretreatments are needed when using this reagent. The reaction is very rapid and sensitive.
