Abstract

The indole alkaloids akuammicine, akuammicine–Nb-oxide, akuammicine–Nb-methiodide, ω–akuammicine, Nb-demethyl-echitamine and tubotaiwine were isolated from the roots of Alsto ni a scholaris together with echitamine, the principal alkaloid, and some echitamidine isomers.

Nb–demethylechitamine, tubotaiwine and picrinine were found in the stems associated with echitamine and some echitamidine isomers.
