Abstract
Experiments carried out in years 1971–1974 proved that sowing the seeds of Valeriana directly into the ground is fully justified, against planting of seedlings, amounting to the thinning has no effect. The results for the terms of sowing (summer, autumn, spring) depend on weather conditions during the first stage of growth. The described methods of cultivation do not clearly influence the content of essential oil and the valepotrianes in the crud drug.
