Abstract

Tissue suspension cultures were developed from germinated seeds of Yucca glauca. The sterols present in these cultures as well as in seeds of Y. glauca were examined. In both the tissue cultures and seeds stigmasterol, sitosterol, campesterol and trace amounts of cholesterol were detected.
