Abstract

Benzene extract of the stem bark of Acacia modesta afforded α-amyrin, betulin, octacosanol and γ–sitosterol. The pet. ether (60–80°) and alcoholic extracts of heartwood of the plant yielded γ–sitosterol and pinitol respectively. The pet. ether (60–80°) extract of leaves gave octacosane, hentriacontane, octacosanol and hentriacontanol.
