Summary
Using new flexible endoscopes and a special technique we are able to examine the entire large intestine and the terminal ileum with a high percentage of success. Thus, new and important possibilities are opened up for the diagnosis. In addition, therapeutic measures can also be carried out through the coloscope, thus saving the patient a laparotomy and the associated lengthy stay in hospital.
