A Plastic Tube for the Maintenance of the Straightening of the Sigmoid Colon during Coloscopy

In order to maintain the straightening of the sigmoid colon during coloscopy a less flexible plastic tube is put over the coloscope after straightening. - The tube has the advantage compared to the method with the flexible steel wire, that the instrument channel is free for suction. It is of great help in putting the coloscope as far as the cecum.

Zusammenfassung

Um die Begradigung der Sigmaschlinge während der Koloskopie aufrecht zu erhalten, wird ein wenig flexibles Plastikrohr nach dem Begradigungsmanöver über das Koloskop geschoben. Verglichen mit dem früher beschriebenen Stahldraht hat die Anwendung des Plastikrohres den Vorteil, daß der Instrumentierkanal bei der Einführung des Koloskopes frei bleibt und jederzeit evtl. sichtbehindernde Darmflüssigkeit abgesaugt werden kann.
