Zusammenfassung
Es wird über einen 48jährigen Mann berichtet, dessen Mitralklappen wegen einer floriden
therapieresistenten Enterokokken-Endokarditis durch Beal-Scheibenklappe ersetzt werden.
Unmittelbar nach der Kardiotomie kommt es zur letalen Embolie in die Arteria cerebri
media rechts mit linksseitiger Hemiplegie. Patient stirbt am 11. postoperativen Tag
an einer sekundären Wühlblutung im zerebralen Infarktgebiet.
Summary
Report of a case of a 48 year old man whose mitral valve was replaced by a Beal disc
valve because of florid, therapy resistant enterococcal endocarditis. A lethal embolism
in the medial cerebral artery with left sided hemiplegia occurred during or immediately
after cardiotomy. The patient died on the 11th postoperative day of a secondary bleeding
in the area of the cerebral infarction.

Présentation du cas d'un homme de 48 ans souffrant d'une endocardite floride à entérocoques
résistant au traitement et chez lequel la valvule mitrale fut remplacée par une valvule
à disque Beal. La cardiotomie fut immédiatement suivie d'une embolie de l'artère cérébrale
moyenne à droite avec hémiplégie gauche. Le malade meurt onze jours après l'intervention
des suites d'une hémorragie secondaire se développant dans le domaine atteint par
l'infarctus cérébral.
