Abstract
The present communication deals with the isolation and studies of two flavonol derivatives, identified to be kaempferol, m. p. 278°, and kaempferide–7–glucoside, m. p. 268°, from the flowers of Pterospermum acerifolium Willd. The identities of these compounds as well as the position of sugar moiety in the glycoside at 7 were established on the basis of various colour reactions, spectral, I. R., acetylation, methylation and oxydation studies.
