Summary

A potential substitute or adulterant for the roots of R. vomitoria Afz. is R. rosea K. Schum., an East African shrub. The anatomy of the root and stem is described and illustrated and compared with published data about other African Rauwolfia species.

Die ostafrikanische Rauwolfia rosea kommt als eine mögliche Verwechslung oder Verfälschung von R. vomitoria in Frage. Die Anatomie von Wurzel und Stamm ist beschrieben und in Vergleich gesetzt zu anderen afrikanischen Rauwolfia-Arten.
