Summary
The antidiabetic activity of different plants was tested in rats using the alloxan diabetes method. The fasting blood sugar and the adrenaline hyperglycaemia methods. Mulberry leaves, blackberry leaves, onion tops, green bean pods and baker's yeast showed good effects. On the other hand, lettuce leaves, coriander fruit, chicory leaves and bryony root were without any prominent action. Further investigation is still in hands.
Zusammenfassung
Die Prüfung einer Reihe von Pflanzenarten auf antidiabetische Wirkung im Rattentest ergab: Blätter von Morus, Rubus, Zwiebel, grüne Bohnenschalen und Bäckerhefe zeigten gute Resultate. Ohne Wirkung waren Salatblätter, Korianderfrüchte, Zichorienblätter und Bryonia–Wurzeln.
