ISOLATION AND CONSTITUTION OF A NEW ANTHOXANTHIN GLYCOSIDE, VOGELOSIDE, FROM THE SEEDS OF TEPHROSIA VOGELII HOOK

Summary

A glycoside of the anthoxanthin vogeletin has been isolated from the seeds ofTephrosiavogelii Hook. One of the sugars is L–arabinose and the other is most probably L–rhamnose. The two sugars are present as a biose unit attached to the 3–hydroxyl of the aglycone.

Zusammenfassung

Aus den Samen von Tephrosia vogelii Hook, wurde Vogelosid – ein Glykosid des Anthoxanthins Vogeletin – isoliert. Einer der Zucker ist L–Arabinose, der andere ist höchstwahrscheinlich L–Rhamnose. Die beiden Zucker liegen als Biose–Einheit vor und sind an das 3–Hydroxyl des Aglykons gebunden.
