Carcinoid of the bronchus*

Summary

In the last 15 years at the Surgical Clinic of the University of Rome, the A. has observed 1462 cases of malignant tumours and 54 cases of benign tumours of the lung.

Among the benign group, there were 32 epithelial and 22 mesodermal tumours.

Of the epithelial group, 27 were carcinoids, two cylindromas and one muco-epidermoid tumour. Pathology and clinical symptomatoloy of the carcinoids are referred and the surgical treatment is discussed.

Zusammenfassung

Verfasser beobachtete an der Chirurgischen Universitätsklinik Rom in den vergangenen 15 Jahren insgesamt 1462 Fälle von malignen und 54 Fälle von benignen Tumoren der Lungen. In der Gruppe der gutartigen Geschwülste fanden sich 32 epitheliale und 22 mesenchymale Tumoren.

Die Gruppe der epithelialen Tumoren enthielt 27 Karzinoide, zwei Zylindrome und ein schleimbildendes Adenom. Es werden Pathologie und klinische Symptomatologie der Karzinoide besprochen und die chirurgischen Behandlungsmöglichkeiten diskutiert.

Depuis 15 ans, à la clinique chirurgicale universitaire de Rome, nous avons observé 1462 cas de tumeurs malignes et 54 cas de tumeurs bénignes des poumons. Dans le groupe des tumeurs bénignes, il y a 32 tumeurs épithéliales et 22 tumeurs mésenchymateuses. Parmi les épithéliales, il y a 27 tumeurs carcinoïdes, deux cylindromes et un adénome muqueux. Nous discutons la pathologie, la Symptomatologie clinique des tumeurs carcinoïdes et des possibilités du traitement chirurgical.
