Zumutbarkeit von Operationen bei Patienten mit künstlichem Herzschrittmacher

Zusammenfassung

Bei sechs Patienten im Alter zwischen 26 und 74 Jahren, denen ein Herzschrittmacher implantiert worden war, ergab sich die Notwendigkeit, operative Eingriffe in Vollnarkose vorzunehmen. Alle Patienten überstanden die Operation ohne Komplikationen; auch ein ausgedehnter Doppeleingriff — Zweidrittelresektion des Magens sowie Cholezystektomie mit Choledochotomie und Steinentferung bei einem 74-jährigen Patienten — wurde störungsfrei vertragen. Ein implantierter Schrittmacher ist somit keine Gegenindikation notwendiger, selbst ausgedehnter Eingriffe.

Summary

In six patients, aged between 26 and 74 years, whose hearts were being paced, surgical intervention under general anaesthesia became necessary. All survived the operation without complications including one who requiring two-thirds gastric resection plus cholecystectomy with choledochotomy and removal of stones (74-year-old man). An implanted pacemaker is thus no contra-indication against necessary operations, even if extensive.

Posibilidad de aplicar intervenciones quirúrgicas en los enfermos con marcapaso cardíaco artificial

En seis pacientes de edades comprendidas entre los 26 y 74 años, en los que se había implantado un marcapaso cardíaco, se dio la necesidad de realizárseles una intervención quirúrgica en narcosis total. Todos los pacientes superaron la operación sin complicaciones; también una extensa intervención doble, resección de dos tercios del estómago así como colecistectomía con colédocotomía y extracción de cálculos en una paciente de 74 años de edad, fue soportada sin molestias. Un marcapaso implantado no es ninguna contraindicación de intervenciones necesarias, aunque sean extensas.
