Summary

Not only non-zygotic embryos (in vitro), but adcentive buds of unicellular origin (in vivo) as well, can be useful for plant breeding purposes. A combination of the advantages of both systems is suggested, and possibilities of practising this method are discussed.

Zusammenfassung

Nicht nur nicht-zygotische Embryonen (in vitro), sondern auch zellbürtige Adventivknospen (in vivo) können für die Pflanzenzüchtung von Nutzen sein. Es wird vorgeschlagen, die Vorteile beider Systeme zu kombinieren, und Möglichkeiten der praktischen Handhabung der Methode werden diskutiert.
