Hypothermie nach Reanimation – Wo liegt der Nutzen?

6 Jahre nach der Veröffentlichung einer europäischen Multicenterstudie zur therapeutischen Hypothermie nach kardiopulmonaler Reanimation ist die Umsetzung der überzeugenden Datenlage in die Praxis der deutschen Intensivstationen und Rettungsdienste noch immer schleppend. Auf dem ERC-Kongress in Stavanger im Mai 2006 wurde die Anzahl der deutschen Intensivstationen, die regelmäßig Patienten nach primär überlebtem Herzkreislaufstillstand therapeutisch kühlen, mit 30  % angegeben. In Skandinavien und Holland erfolgt dies in 70  % der Fälle. Die Zahlen dürften heute 10–20  % höher liegen.
