Zusammenfassung

Die statistische Auswertung der Musterungskartei von rund 5,4 Millionen Wehrpflichtigen ergab eine Kropffrequenz von 15,29%. Diese Frequenz entspricht einer Kropfendemie, so daß eine Kropfprophylaxe in der Bundesrepublik indiziert ist.

Summary

Statistical analysis of indexed information on 5.4 million men, subject to military conscription, gave a goitre incidence of 15.29%. This corresponds to an endemic state and would suggest that a goitre prevention programme is needed.
