Erfahrungen mit der Tollwutprophylaxe¹

Zusammenfassung

Nach einer kurzen Darstellung des derzeitigen Tollwutseuchenzuges unter besonderer Berücksichtigung der Verhältnisse in Südhessen und nach Besprechung der Möglichkeiten der prä- und post-infektionellen Prophylaxe wird die Indikationsstellung zur aktiven Schutzimpfung nach den Empfehlungen der Weltgesundheitsorganisation anhand eigener Beobachtungen erörtert. Insgesamt wurden 279 Personen, darunter 37 schwergefährdete, mit der Tollwutvakzine Behringwerke nach Hempt geimpft. Erkrankungen an Tollwut traten nicht auf. Leichtere Impfreaktionen, die in allen Fällen folgenlos abklangen, entwickelten sich bei 21% der Geimpften. Schwere neurologische Impfkomplikationen wurden nicht beobachtet. Die Prophylaxe mit eiadaptiertem Virus fixe und mit Hyperimmunserum wird diskutiert.

Summary

Present-day epidemiological features of rabies are briefly described. The conditions in South-Hessen are considered, possible pre- and post-infection prophylaxis is discussed, and the indications for active immunization presented, based on personal observations and the recommendations of the World Health Organisation. A total of 279 persons were immunized by the authors with rabies vaccine produced at the Behringwerke: 37 of them had been in probably infectious contact with a rabid dog. No cases of rabies resulted. Mild reactions to the immunization occurred in a fifth of the subjects; severe neurological complications were not observed. The prophylaxis with egg-adapted fixed virus and with hyper-immune serum is discussed.

Experiencias con la profilaxis antirrábica

Después de reseñar brevemente el curso de la epidemia actual de hidrofobia, considerando especialmente la situación en Hessen del Sur y ventilando las posibilidades de la profilaxis preinfecciosa y postinfecciosa, se discute el establecimiento de la indicación de la vacunación profiláctica activa según las recomendaciones de la Organización Mundial de Sanidad, valiéndose de observaciones propias. 279 personas, entre ellas 37 en peligro grave, fueron vacunadas en total con la vacuna antirrábica de las Behringwerke según Hempt. No se produjeron afecciones de rabia. Reacciones de vacunación más bien leves se desarrollaron en 21% de los vacunados, declinando en todos los casos sin secuela. No se observaron graves complicaciones neurológicas de la vacunación. Se discute la profilaxis con viro fijo adaptado al huevo y con suero hiperinmunológico.
