Zusammenfassung
Mit zunehmender Zahl von Bluttransfusionen ist es zu einer Häufung unerwünschter Transfusionsreaktionen gekommen. Allergische Erscheinungen wurden durch prophylaktische Gaben von Cortison oder ACTH unterdrückt bzw. durch eine therapeutische Cortisoninjektion rasch beseitigt. Bei 9 schwerkranken Patienten, die nach mehreren Bluttransfusionen allergische Unverträglichkeitsreaktionen gezeigt hatten, konnten weitere Übertragungen ohne Störungen durchgeführt werden, nachdem eine Stunde vor der Transfusion prophylaktisch 50—100 mg Cortison gegeben worden waren.
Summary
The use of stored blood for transfusions has led to an increase in the number of transfusion reactions. Such reactions could, however, be quickly suppressed by cortisone injections. The authors' own experiences are cited in 9 severely ill patients who had shown allergic responses to several blood transfusions. After prophylactic injection of 50—100 mg. of cortisone one hour before blood transfusion further allergic reactions were entirely avoided.

Sobre la profilaxis y terapéutica de las reacciones alérgicas en las transfusiones de sangre con cortisona y ACTH
Desde que ha sido utilizada frecuentemente sangre conservada en las transfusiones, se ha llegado a un acrecimiento de la reacciones indeseables en la transfusión. Apariciones alérgicas fueron suprimidas merced a tomas profilácticas de cortisona o ACTH o con una inyección terapéutica de cortisona. Estas experiencias han sida confirmadas en 9 pacientes graves que habían reaccionado a varias transfusiones de sangre con reacciones alérgicas intolerables, en los que, tras haber dado una hora antes de la transfusión de 50—100 mg de cortisona profilácticamente, se pudo continuar dicha transfusión sin trastorno alguno.
