Zusammenfassung
Einer Metaanalyse zufolge kann die hoch dosierte Gabe von Vitamin E
die Gesamtmortalität erhöhen. Bei kritischer Analyse der Arbeit zeigt
sich jedoch, dass einige Fakten wie unterschiedlichste Studienkollektive oder
Erkrankungen unterschlagen wurden. Der Autor setzt sich kritisch mit dieser
pauschalen Bewertung auseinander, die im Übrigen von darauffolgenden
Untersuchungen nicht bestätigt wurde. Zudem wird über Bedarf,
Mangelsymptome und Indikationen informiert.
Abstract
According to a meta-analysis, the total mortality can be increased
by a high dose of vitamin E. When this paper is analyzed critically, it turns
out, that some facts, like very different study populations or diseases have
been held back. The author deals critically with this wholesale evaluation,
which has not been confirmed by later studies. In addition, he informs about
need, deficiency symptoms and indications.
