10 Jahre Palliativstation in einem Universitätsklinikum – Zusammenarbeit eines interprofessionellen und interdisziplinären Teams

Die demografische, soziale und medizinische Entwicklung in Deutschland macht einen Ausbau von Palliativstationen, stationären Hospizen und ambulanten Palliativdiensten dringend notwendig. Zwar ist es in den letzten Jahren zu einem stetigen Anstieg der Zahl dieser Institutionen gekommen, noch ist der Bedarf aber nicht gedeckt. Gesetzgeberische Maßnahmen der letzten Jahre erleichtern die positive Entwicklung vor allem im ambulanten Bereich.

Anhand der Darstellung einer Palliativstation einer Universitätsklinik mit 14 Betten werden Aufgaben, Möglichkeiten, Teamzusammensetzung, Struktur und Belegung einer stationären Palliativeinheit dargestellt.

The demographic, social and medical developments in Germany make it imperative to increase the number of palliative wards, stationary care hostels and outpatient palliative service arrangements. Although during the past few years there has been a steady increase in outpatient palliative services, the demand is still largely unsatisfied. Legislative measures in recent years have indeed steadily facilitated the foundation of such outpatient institutions, but their number is still unsatisfactory.

The following article illustrates the tasks, possibilities, possible team compositions, structure and patient care chances of an inpatient palliative unit in a university hospital.
