The National Theatre in Cluj-Napoca.

In cooperation with the ESGE, the Romanian Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy will hold a workshop in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, the historic capital of Transylvania and the second largest city in Romania. The city is also a noted educational center with universities, a branch of the Romanian Academy of Sciences, a fine arts institute and several scientific research centers. Directors of the workshop are Oliviu Pascu (Cluj-Napoca) and Cristian Gheorghe (Bucharest).

The invited faculty from abroad holding lectures and operating in the live demonstration of digestive diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy are as follows:

Lars Aabakken (Norway)
Paul Fockens (The Netherlands)
Olivier Le Moine (Belgium)
Miguel Muñoz-Navas (Spain)
Rainer Schoefl (Austria)

A broad spectrum of procedures will be demonstrated (polypectomies, endoscopic hemostasis, treatment with argon plasma and laser therapy, ERCP, endoscopic ultrasound, capsule endoscopy, digestive, biliary and pancreatic stenting, pseudocysts drainage, choledocoscopy, balloon enteroscopy, mucosectomy, photodynamic therapy).

The European Society of Gastroenterology and Endoscopy Nurses Association (ESGENA) will also be involved and offer a special programme for nurses.
