Abstract

The three-component reaction between secondary phosphines, R2PH [R = Ph(CH2)2, PhCHMeCH2, PhCH2CHMe, 4-t-BuC6H4(CH2)2, 4-MeOC6H4(CH2)2, 2-furyl(CH2)2, 4-pyridyl(CH2)2, 6-Me-3-pyridyl(CH2)2, Ph], elemental selenium, and ammonia proceeds under mild conditions (EtOH-H2O, 53-55 ˚C or EtOH, r.t., 10 min) without the formation of byproducts to give the first representatives of ammonium diselenophosphinates in high yields (up to 96%).
