Es ist bekannt, dass Haustiere u.a. folgende Auswirkungen auf ihre Besitzer haben können [[1]]: Sie vermitteln dem Besitzer ein Gefühl des Gebrauchtwerdens, geben Sicherheit und Anlass zu Ablenkung und Freude, regen zu körperlicher Aktivität an (z.B. Spazierengehen mit Hunden) und helfen, mit Einsamkeit und Isolationsempfinden umzugehen.
