Zusammenfassung
Für Physiotherapeuten, die Patienten mit WAD behandeln, sind Schmerzlinderung, aktive Bewegungsstrategien und Edukation von Schmerzphysiologie maßgebliche Behandlungsziele. Da die klinische Präsentation der Behinderung variiert, spielen unterschiedliche Aspekte der physiologischen und psychologischen Symptome eine wichtige Rolle. Zu behandelnde Symptome umfassen z. B. Hyperalgesie, Allodynie, posttraumatisches Stresssyndrom und Verlust der Bewegungsfähigkeit. Diese Faktoren können durch physiologische oder psychologische Mechanismen ausgelöst werden.
In der vorliegenden Fallstudie wird eine junge Frau mit WAD mit einem Therapieregime behandelt, dessen Schwerpunkt auf einem Angst-Vermeidungs-Modell (FAM = Fear-Avoidance Model) liegt.
Abstract
For physiotherapists treating individuals with whiplash-associated disorders (WAD) pain relief, active exercise and pain physiology education are treatment goals. As the clinical presentation differs varying aspects of physiological and psychological features are important. Symptoms that often need to be treated include hyperalgesia, allodynia, posttraumatic stress syndrome and loss of mobility. These factors can be provoked by physiological or psychological mechanisms.
In this case report a young woman with WAD is treated by a therapy regime with emphasis on a fear-avoidance model (FAM).
