Abstract
This ABA designed (pre-intervention – intervention – post-intervention) single case study assessed the effectiveness of cervical spine treatment in chronic lateral epicondylopathy. The 59 year old patient was treated in 3 phases (locally at the elbow, cervical spine, again locally at the elbow). He attained significant improvement in all outcome measures except strength. He was able to pursue his hobbies unlimited and without pain.
The result supports the hypothesis that the cervical spine, with its anatomical and physiological ties to the elbow, is an important component in the treatment of lateral epicondylopathy. Further randomised controlled trials are necessary to support this hypothesis.
