Abstract

Das zunehmende Problem der Antibiotikaresistenzentwicklung erfordert weitere Anstrengungen auf den Gebieten nosokomiale Infektionsprävention und Antibiotic Stewardship und verbunden damit mehr Experten auf diesem Gebiet. Allerdings ist die Anzahl der auf diesem Gebiet arbeitenden Experten sehr begrenzt. Der Artikel beschreibt deshalb das vorhandene Ärzteangebot, den notwendigen Bedarf und liefert einen Vorschlag zweier medizinischer Fachgesellschaften, um einen ersten Schritt zur Behebung dieses aktuellen Defizits einzuleiten.

The increasing problem of antimicrobial resistance requires further efforts in training and education of infection control and antibiotic stewardship. However, the number of experts working in this field is limited. The article describes the available resources and requirements and provides a proposal of two scientific societies for a short term improvement of the situation.
