Total Syntheses of (+)-Pestaphthalide A and (-)-Pestaphthalide B

Abstract

Total syntheses of (+)-pestaphthalide A and (-)-pestaphthalide B were achieved. Key steps are an iridium-mediated meta-selective arylborylation, a Suzuki-coupling/Jacobsen-epoxidation sequence, a stereodivergent epoxide opening and an anionic cyclic carbonate/γ-lactone rearrangement.
