Das Visitengespräch ist aus verschiedenen Gründen wichtig: Es dient der Information des Patienten, stellt die Weichen für zukünftige Behandlungsprozesse und fördert die Compliance. Daher muss die für die ärztliche Visite zur Verfügung stehende knappe Zeit sinnvoll genutzt und darauf geachtet werden, die Erwartungen des Patienten und des zuweisenden Hausarztes zu erfüllen – was nicht zuletzt auch für das Image der Klinik wichtig ist. Der Artikel erläutert, wie ein Visitengespräch trotz Zeitmangel effizient und einfühlsam gestaltet werden kann, und schildert den optimalen Ablauf einer klinischen Visite – von der Vorbereitung bis hin zum Entlassungsgespräch.
Ward-round communication between doctors and patients is important for several reasons. The patient gets the information he needs, is geared for forthcoming treatment, and compliance is promoted. This necessitates adequate disposal of the short available time and should meet the patient's and family doctor's expectations, which is also an aspect of the hospital's reputation. The following article explains how to shape a ward-round talk efficiently despite shortage of time. These considerations apply equally to introductory and final ward rounds.
