Die perioperative Pflege des Patienten beginnt bereits mit der Entscheidung zur Operation (sei es geplant oder als Notfallindikation). Von Anfang an muss ein offener und reger Informationsaustausch zwischen Patient und Chirurg, zwischen Patient und Anästhesist wie auch zwischen Patient und Pflegeteam stattfinden. Für den kranio-maxillo-fazialen Patienten ist das Ergebnis der Operation von besonderer Wichtigkeit, da es zu einer einschneidenden Veränderung seiner äußeren Erscheinung kommen kann. Daher müssen alle möglichen, positiven wie negativen, Operationskonsequenzen vorgängig besprochen werden. Zusätzlich zur perioperativen Basisversorgung sind beim kranio-maxillo-fazialen Patienten spezifische Vorsichtsmaßnahmen während der Vorbereitungsphase, der Operationsphase und der postoperativen Phase erforderlich, um optimale Arbeitsbedingungen für das chirurgische und das Anästhesieteam zu gewährleisten und die bestmögliche Behandlung des Patienten zu erreichen.
Abstract
Perioperative care of the patient begins with the decision to operate (planned or emergency surgery) and with the exchange of information between patient and surgeon, patient and anaesthesiologist, and patient and nursing staff. Particularly for the ”cranio-maxillo-facial” patient it has to be kept in mind that the outcome of the operation can cause an alteration to the patient's appearance; it is therefore of utmost importance to discuss with the patient all possible consequences – both negative and positive – which may occur during and after the operation. Thus, in addition to general basic perioperative care, the cranio-maxillo-facial patient requires specific measures and precautions during all phases (pre-, intra- and postoperative) of the procedure; effective communication and an optimal cooperation between the surgical and anaesthetic teams is a prerequisite to ensure high-quality working conditions and achieve the best possible result for the patient.
