Die Ergotherapie bei der rheumatoiden Arthritis – aktuelle Übersicht und Zusammenfassung der Literatur

Zusammenfassung

Die ergotherapeutische Behandlung ist ein wichtiger Bestandteil in der Versorgung von Patienten mit rheumatoider Arthritis (RA). Neben der Befunderhebung werden ergotherapeutische Maßnahmen inkl. Beratung zum Gelenkschutz sowie die Möglichkeiten der funktionellen Therapie erläutert. Anhand einer fokussierten Literaturrecherche wird die Evidenz zur Ergotherapie bei der RA wiedergegeben. Demnach können intensive und umfassende Programme unter Einbeziehung von Schulungen und Beratungen signifikante Verbesserungen von Schmerz und Funktion erreichen. Orthesen und Schienen zeigen wenig Effektivität. Aufgrund der innovativen medikamentösen Behandlung stellt die Betreuung am Arbeitsplatz einen wesentlichen Schwerpunkt der Ergotherapie dar.

Abstract

The occupational therapy has become a pivotal tool in the complex treatment of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients. Besides a thorough assessment, occupational measures like joint protection as well as opportunities of functional treatment will be outlined in more detail. Based on a literature search, the current and focused evidence for occupational therapy in the management of RA is illustrated. Accordingly, intensive and comprehensive programmes including training and consulting services achieve significant improvements in pain and function. Orthotics and splints show little effectiveness. The increasing importance of occupational therapy tailored to the individual needs at the patient's workplace is highlighted.
