In this research α-Amylase and α-glucosidase inhibitory activities of leaf and it's callus culture of Gymnema sylvestre were evaluated, using in vitro models [1,2]. In addition, antioxidant potential (DPPH· radical scavenging) and total flavonoid contents of the extracts were also determined. Antioxidant activity was evaluated by the effect of extracts on DPPH radical [3]. The results showed that leaf and its callus extract significantly and concentration dependently, inhibited α-amylase and α-glucosidase activities. All the extracts exhibited antioxidant activity. Total flavonoid contents of leaf and its callus culture were found to be 86.65 and 41.22 respectively.
