Direktzugang zur Physiotherapie in der Schweiz^[1]

Zusammenfassung

Hintergrund: Mit der Einführung der Bologna-Reform im Jahr 2006 wurde das Ausbildungssystem der Physiotherapeuten in der Schweiz auf akademisches Niveau angehoben. Dies hat zu einer Diskussion hinsichtlich des Direktzugangs zur Physiotherapie geführt.

Ziel: Ziel dieser Fragebogenuntersuchung war es, die Einstellung von Physiotherapeuten in der Schweiz zum Direktzugang zu erfahren und ob sie sich einen Direktzugang zutrauen.

Methode: Nach einer kulturellen und sprachlichen Validierung der Befragungsinstrumente wurde der Fragebogen im Mai 2010 an die Mitglieder des Schweizer Physiotherapie Verbandes verschickt. Die Rücklaufquote betrug 27 %.

Ergebnisse: Die Mehrheit (86 %) der befragten Physiotherapeuten befürwortet die Einführung des Direktzugangs in der Schweiz, und 84 % trauen sich den Direktzugang auch zu. Laut 60 % der Befragten sind dafür jedoch zusätzliche Qualifikationen unabdingbar. Umfassendes Wissen über Pathologie (Red Flags; 90 %), Differenzialdiagnostik (75 %) und die Teilnahme an Weiterbildungen (65 %) werden am wichtigsten erachtet.

Schlussfolgerungen: Physiotherapeuten in der Schweiz zeigen eine positive Einstellung gegenüber dem Direktzugang. Damit liegen vergleichbare Ergebnisse mit Deutschland vor. Weitere Schritte sind notwendig, um den Direktzugang in der Schweiz voranzubringen, wie z. B. die Durchführung von Pilotprojekten mit realistischen Zielen.

Abstract

Background: With the implementation of the Bologna reform in 2006 the Swiss physiotherapy education system was upgraded to an academic level. This led to a discussion concerning direct access to physiotherapy.

Objective: The aim of this questionnaire enquiry was to evaluate the current attitude of physiotherapists in Switzerland towards direct access and whether they dare to actively practice it.

Method: After a cultural and linguistic validation of the survey tools, in May 2010 the questionnaire was sent to all members of the Swiss Physical Therapy Association. The return rate was 27 %.

Results: The majority (86 %) of the interviewed physiotherapists endorse the direct access implementation in Switzerland, and 84.3 % dare to actively practice it. According to 60 % of the respondents, however, additional qualifications are indispensable. Comprehensive knowledge of pathology (red flags; 90 %), differential diagnosis (75 %) and attending professional training (65 %) were considered to be most important.

Conclusions: Physiotherapists in Switzerland show a positive attitude towards direct access which represent comparable results with Germany. In order to promote direct access in Switzerland further steps are necessary, e. g. performing pilot projects with reasonable goals.
