Abstract
Since most chemotherapeutic agents are less or non-effective in malignant melanoma, there is a need for exploring new targets for influencing growth and metastatic potential of this highly malignant neoplasm. Our experiments on human melanoma cell lines in vitro indicate that TRAIL may be a structure to be used as a therapeutic target, thus influencing apoptosis resistance in melanoma cells.
