Hygienemängel in Krankenhäusern und das Vorhandensein multiresistenter Keime sind ein fortwährendes Thema in der medialen Berichterstattung. Die Niederlande genießen den Ruf, ihr Hygieneproblem weitgehend ”im Griff“ zu haben – bereits seit Beginn der 1980er- Jahre gibt es dort Konzepte zum Umgang speziell mit resistenten Staphylococcus-aureus-Stämmen: Es stellt sich die Frage, ob das niederländische Hygienekonzept auf Deutschland übertragbar ist.
