Zusammenfassung

Die Prävalenz von Tätowierungen (TT) und Body Piercings (BP) ist im letzten Jahrzehnt weltweit sprunghaft angestiegen. Aus diesem Grund beschäftigen die mit beiden Praktiken häufig einhergehenden unvorhersehbaren Komplikationen, wie medizinische Folgeerscheinungen, aber auch psychische und behaviorale Aspekte, zunehmend Mediziner und Psychologen. Eine Rundschau aktueller Forschungsergebnisse zum Thema.

Abstract

Because of a bursting worldwide increase in TT and BP prevalence during the last decade a review on contemporary research findings considering unforeseen complications of TT and BP like medical consequences as well as psychological and behavioural aspects of TT and BP are summarized.
