Einleitung

Seit der Geburt des ersten Kindes „Louise Brown“ nach In-vitro-Fertilisation (IVF) im Jahre 1978 sowie der Einführung der intrazytoplasmatischen Spermieninjektion (ICSI) im Jahre 1992 sind weltweit bis zum Jahre 2011 mehr als 5 Mio. Kinder nach Anwendung der assistierten Befruchtung (ART) geboren worden. Das Deutsche IVF-Register, bestehend seit 1996, erfasste 2010 den millionsten reproduktionsmedizinischen Zyklus [1]. Die Besonderheiten im Erleben der Schwangeren und ihrer Partner sind evident, aber bisher wenig erforscht.
